A wonderful start for Harriet Dart after a good run in Nottingham dropping just 2 games in under 70 minutes.
It is the first time since 2003 that only two Brits have been in the main draw in Birmingham but it was a strong showing from Harriet.
To begin the morning they both shared one half of the practice courts before their meeting around 12:30.
During the match the Brit showed great composure and control against the top 40 ranked player from Colombia.
Her groundstrokes and the way she moved the ball was impressive throughout. There was an exchange of serves but Camila never really settled on serve as double faults creeped in. She did find some joy with the drop shot but couldn’t bring it into play often.
