Novak Djokovic, one win from history

Novak Djokovic is one win away from creating history, the Calendar Grand Slam is on.

The last decade has been a phenomenon to watch, whether you are his biggest fan or not you cannot under play his greatness and achievement.

Grand Slam Titles July 2021

Federer: 20
Nadal: 20
Djokovic: 20

He won his first in Melbourne in 2011 and could return to Melbourne in 2022 with 21 Grand Slam titles ahead of Federer and Nadal.

Novak has been spectacular to watch during this career and he has a chance to do something no male has done since Rod Laver, holding the the calendar Grand Slam. A win on Sunday night would mean the world number one has won 9 of the last 13 Grand Slam tournaments which is insane.

He gets criticised and we know what went down here last year but he is a mental giant, he bounces back, resets and goes again and I don’t think there is anyone better in the big moments.

The weekend is set to be historic and Novak Djokovic knows what this means, speaking after the five set semi-final win over Zverev he said:

‘I’m going to treat the next match like it’s the last match of my career. I will put my heart, my soul, my body, my head into winning it.’

Four matches in a row he has lost the first set, it’s not been ideal but he comes through. World No.2 Daniil Medvedev will be hoping to ruin the party and he’s dropped just one set and has his sights on his major title!
