Simona Halep finds her groove to move into the final four in Dubai!

Simona Halep has had a right old battle on her hands this week but we do usually see the Romanian’s best when she is forced to dig deep and she’s done that in Dubai.

The in-form Ons Jabeur and highly talented Aryna Sabalenka both got off to fantastic starts against the former world number one who is acting as top seed this week following Ash Barty’s withdrawal.

Halep took a while to get going in both matches going 1-6 down to Ons and 3-6 down to Aryna in the first set.

Despite being down chants of SI-MO-NA continue to get louder and louder. No matter where she goes the support is always fantastic and the atmosphere spurs on the world number two.

Once again as she did against Ons she took the second set 6-2 against Sabalenka and really turned on the style in the third set winning that 6-2 as well.

The tennis was fantastic from both ladies but the way she powered through in the end was excellent. She soaked up the power of the Belarusian and made her play extra points to set up a semi-final against qualifier Jennifer Brady.

Halep played Brady at the Australian Open winning 7-6 6-1 recently and on the other half of the draw the inform Elena Rybakina has the experienced Petra Martic for a place in her fourth final of 2020.
