Cam Norrie knocked out of Delray Beach by American debutant Brandon Nakashima

Alongside Ryan Harrison and Jack Sock eighteen year old Brandon Nakashima was also a wildcard into the weeks tennis at Delray Beach.

The 18 year old born in San Diego was making his main draw ATP debut at the result of receiving a wildcard and has already made a big impact advancing to the quarter finals at Delray Beach.

Brandon who is ranked down at 294 in the world is on the verge of breaking into the top 250 following his 7-5 6-2 win over British number three Cam Norrie who down at 60 in the world.

In his first round match the American took out Jiri Vesely on Monday with a 7-6 6-1 win against the Czech player ranked at 74 but a previous high of 35.

It was another solid serving performance from the teenager. Despite struggling to get his first serve in at just 51% against the Brit he won 75% of points behind it and backed up his second serve with 67% of points won. He created many chances on the Brit’s service games and executed 3 of the 7 break points he created.

For Cam Norrie it is a bitter sweet week for the Brit. He was the top seed in qualifying over the weekend coming through his two matches which set him up against third seed Taylor Fritz in round one.

Cam did a good job winning 6-4 6-7 6-4 against the American but would have been disappointed to fall against the youngest player in the draw today.

The 18 year old will be up against energetic Yoshihito Nishioka in the quarter finals next.
