He plays with Pride, Passion & Determination.
Writing that sentence actually gave me goosebumps.
I don’t really know where to go with this now so I’m going to go for it.
At 20 years old Stefanos Tsitsipas is only just getting started.
His personality engages you and watching him play is like being hypnotised you cannot take your eyes off it.
I’m not going to sit here and talk about forehands and backhands I’ve done that before and I will be looking more at his game going forward.
This is about him, his personality.
This says a lot about his character and the respect he has.
He shows the full catalogue of emotions and it’s good to see that on the court as he isn’t flat faced. He wants this and he’s a hard worker and he cares and it goes a long way in how you are perceived in sport and in life.
People just love him.
I was in Melbourne during the Australian Open and his win against Federer and his tournament on a whole got everyone talking. Restaurants were naming food after him and he quickly became a crowd favourite.
I saw him live in Madrid on two occasions and the first was that win against Nadal. It was easily the best performance I have ever seen live. I felt privileged to be there and despite defeating the favourite Nadal the crowd took to him.
We are just at the beginning here, it didn’t happen in Paris.
He continues to create records, he has 10 top 10 wins, 3 titles, 2 masters finals and his run to Melbourne semi-finals as well at the beginning of the year.
I can’t wait to see what happens next!
