Diego is annoyed but isn’t he to blame?

Diego Schwartzman is not a happy man and here’s why;

Diego messed up the sign up form for Barcelona and with wildcards already assigned he missed out so it meant he would have to play qualifying which began on Saturday.

Diego was in Monte Carlo that week and played his last singles match was Wednesday after defeat to Taylor Fritz but still opted to hang around for the doubles, so if he was that committed to competing in Barcelona and wanted some time off before the tournament knowing full well he would have to play Saturday in Barcelona why did he hang around?

Subsequently, flip it around… what if he went further in the singles at Monte-Carlo what does he do then?

I do get his frustration and this has happened before a lot on the tour usually when a lower ranked player makes a good run at big tournament but then is still active in the latter stages and has to pull out of following weeks qualifying.

It was his mistake, ok maybe scheduling could have been better for Tuesday but this happens all the time and because of how packed the tour is making time is sometimes not an option.

He has taken to Twitter to have a go at the tournament and the ATP but I’m not sure what he is hoping to gain from it.
