Two weeks of tennis in the Californian Desert has come to an end. As ever Indian Wells provides with memories and history created but who impressed?
We could not start anywhere else, it wouldn’t be right. Bianca came in as a wildcard. No one has won more tour matches than the 18 year old this who made her second final of the year and became the first ever wildcard to even make the final at Indian Wells
Her all court game, fearless approach and confidence has been incredible and wins against Cibulkova, Muguruza and Svitolina have been so good to see.
Since winning in Paris it has been a bit stop/start for Karen. I saw him in Melbourne against Agut and he struggled.
Apparently Karen has changed back his old racket and maybe that is doing the trick. He seemed a little bit more confident during Indian Wells and has been impressive in his performances.
It was a big week with wins against Lopez, Isner and Rublev before falling 6-7 6-7 to Nadal but plenty to look forward to.
His rapping skills were interesting haha!
If anything, an earlier exit than anticipated?
Probably the best I’ve seen Denis for some time, he impressed me the way he pulled his whole game together and maybe that is a slight problem that it if it isn’t all pulling together grinding out the wins is tough.
Defeat against Hurkacz was a surprise especially after what he did against Johnson, Cilic etc and I would have liked to see him up against Federer.
The 19 year old was fearless.
When you see what she did and who she played against you cannot be unimpressed. Siegemund, Ostapenko, Kasatkina and Simona Halep.
Four players, big personalities and different games. She has just gone out there and done it which is what I love seeing young players do.
Quarter finalist here, finalist in Hungary and semi-finalist with Strycova in Melbourne.. she is one to keep an eye on!
