Borna Coric is a man finding form.
Extended season in Davis Cup and illness meant that his pre-season didn’t really get going until after Melbourne where his pre-season begun and says he has been working on everything.
His performances so far in Dubai have been inspiring.
You could look at the performances of Borna so far this week and look either way congratulate for grinding results or be picky.
I’m more on the grind out results however it has been good so far this week to see how he has improved his game in each match.
He has been a bit of a slow starter. Against Berdych he didn’t really get the ground strokes going, he was passive but his net clearance was good where as against Bashilashvili his net clearance was too high but was making the shots he just wasn’t being as effective.
Borna’s season has really started here, I think we are in for a big year. I’m interested to see what happens over the coming weeks. The question will be, how much does he have in the tank?
He has Federer next tomorrow.
I do think this week deserves credit. Once again he has fought back from a set down and for the third time this week has won the deciding set on the tie-breaker which is pretty impressive and the way he has grown into matches has been exceptional!
