Davis Cup weekend has always and will always be a weekend where emotion runs high and for all the wrong reasons 17 year old Denis Shapovalov stole the headlines with the tie level at 2-2 and in the deciding rubber with Great Britain’s Kyle Edmund up two sets and just broken the Canadian once again frustration got the better of Shapovalov who launched a ball an ended up hitting the umpire in the face…

After the incident, Shapovalov ran over to apoligise and later said how incredibly ashamed he is but the damage was done as Great Britain advance to the quarter finals of the tournament after the umpire defaulted the Canadian with Edmund winning 6-3 6-4 2-1 which meant Great Britain won the tie 3-2.
You have to feel sorry for Shapovavlov but at the same time you have to keep emotions in check no matter how old you are that behaviour is unacceptable which he realises and it is a harsh lesson learnt.
