Carlos Moya joins Rafael Nadal’s coaching team

For former world number one Carlos Moya it has been a busy couple of weeks for the Spaniard. Just a couple of weeks ago a surprise announcement was made that Milos Raonic and Carlos Moya had split despite his best year on the tour but now the Spaniard has moved to work with a very good friend of his joining the Rafael Nadal coaching team.

Nadal is already coached by his uncle Toni Nadal and Francis Roig and to add Moya at this stage in his career when he has known the same thing for so long shows maybe he thinks something needs to change if he is to challenge at the very top once again.

Nadal said that having Moya in his team is ‘something special’. The two are good friends and have played doubles before together and Moya will also be working at the recently opened Rafael Nadal academy.

The last time Nadal won a major was the 2014 French Open final, could that change in 2017?
