Raonic and Konta make surprise coaching splits!

It’s that time of the year again. It’s getting cold, Christmas is coming, were missing tennis but for players on the ATP and WTA tour the season starts now which for some usually means a coaching change and for Milos Raonic and Johanna Konta they have both announced splits in the last couple of days…

Milos and Moya…

Former world number one Carlos Moya is now longer coaching Milos Raonic as the Canadian announced on Instagram that they have split. This means that since the beginning of 2013 the Canadian has had five coaches in just over three years with the only member of his team now being Riccardo Piatti whereas at Wimbledon he also had of course Moya and McEnroe in his corner. Having made London and impressed but fell short the next step is important, he needs to win a major now. Got to the final of Wimbledon and now needs to go the next step. Who knows whether Milos will look for another coach or just work with Riccardo?

Konta and Esteban…

This was a big surprise. Esteban has been a member of the team for a number of years whilst Johanna trained in Gijon and has helped her get from 140 to top 10 so to split is a shock!

What happens next will be interesting. 2017 is about showing you belong there and trying to push yourself further to challenge for the big mandatory titles and Grand Slams which she will be seeded for!
