Djokovic cruises to SF’s
Well David Goffin came into the picture yesterday after Monfils’ withdrawal from the tournament leaving the match as a dead rubber as there was no way Goffin could qualify even if he won the match so was essentially there to make up the numbers as Djokovic won 6-2 6-3 against the Belgian to secure his 3rd win at the O2.
It was pretty routine for Novak but there was a little bit of drama in just the fourth game of the match after a brutal 21 shot rally the Serb then surprisingly received a code violation for taking too long between the point ending and then next point beginning which after a rally of that quality is a little silly.
Raonic goes big as Thiem goes home!
Go big or go home! It was Milos Raonic who rose to the challenge to win in straight sets against Dominic Thiem to qualify for the semi-finals in London. The first set was pretty close between the two and had to be decided by a tie-break but in the second set it was more straight forward to the Canadian who took it 6-3.
After a bit of a disaster first time round in 2014 without a win to his name going out in the round robin this time it’s been better and the dream lives on for the Canadian.
