Kerber and Keys stroll to victory in Singapore

Keys powers past Cibulkova!

Well I think I owe Madison Keys an apology. I doubted whether Keys could defeat Cibulkova following her performance against Halep in the opening match but the American was so good in her 6-1 6-4 win against Dominika Cibulkova.

Everything was just better, the serve down the T worked well today, the second serve can still be a bit all over the place but it is such a tough shot to make effective especially on a slow court. This result keeps Keys chance of going through alive but plays Kerber next where as for Cibulkova it is win or bust against Halep on Thursday.

Kerber strolls to victory again..

Angie Kerber found herself up a break in the match right away against Simona Halep and didn’t really look back at all. The German number one was in fine form despite losing the early break but never really lost control of the match as she breezed past a very frustrated Simona Halep.

The Romanian was out of sorts, I have never seen her like it before. After missing shots she showed a lot of frustration and after winning a point at 30-30 walked to the chair thinking the game was over and just wasn’t there today. Anything Halep asked Kerber answered to secure her second win of the week.
