David Ferrer withdraws from Monte-Carlo with injury

Sadly David Ferrer announced this morning via Twitter that he has withdrawn from the Monte-Carlo Masters this week with an injury.

The Spaniard reached the final back in 2011 but his tournament has ended before it was set to begin. He was set to play against Alexander Zverev in round two which would have been a very interesting match to watch.

Ferrer did have quarter final points to defend which will be a blow to his ranking but hopefully we can see him back on the court quickly and hopefully will be back for Madrid at the beginning of next month where he also has quarter final points to defend.
