Both Heather Watson and Yanina Wickmayer finished the match with 98 points each however there was only one winner and that was Heather Watson who won from a set down to defeat Wickmayer for the first time in her career having lost their previous encounters.
The British number two is playing some great tennis at the moment and is continuing her good momentum from winning her third WTA title in Monterrey not long ago and is looking composed and confident on the court! It is also great to see Diego Veronelli back in Watson’s coaching team after the two split at the beginning of the year!
Watson now faces her toughest challenge of the tournament yet as she plays against Simona Halep for a place in the next round. Stay tuned for a preview ;)!
