There is no better way to finish the year than with the WTA Finals title under your belt and that is what Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza have done in style!
Going into the WTA Finals in Singapore Hingis and Mirza both had 9 titles to their name (8 won together) and were on a 17 match winning streak and extended that run to 22 in Singapore with 5 wins out of 5 and not a set dropped on their way to their 10th title of 2015.
For Martina Hingis this is only her third WTA Finals Doubles Title after first playing the tournament back in 2000 where she won and for Sania Mirza it is the second year running she has ended the year with the title after winning it last year with three time champion Cara Black.
The match was pretty much one way traffic as Hingis and Mirza took the first set 6-0 against the Spanish duo of Muguruza (who made the singles semi-final) and Suarez Navarro. They only managed to win 4 points behind their own serve in their first set which is less than achieved on the Hingis/Mirza serve as they won 7 points.
The second set was a little closer but there was only one outcome as Hingis and Mirza took it 6-3 to stroll to the title in just 66 minutes saving three out of four break points in the match whereas Muguruza/Navarro only managed to save 6/11.
Finishing the year with 10 titles each and on an unbeaten run of 22 wins in a row, who can stop them next year when the season begins in Australia?
