Davis Cup rule change from 2016!

From the start of 2016 a new rule for Davis Cup will be in place beginning in the first round in March.

There will no longer be a marathon fifth set during matches and it will now be a tie-breaker instead which I suppose adds a little bit more drama and tension to matches.

The longest rubber in Davis Cup history (singles) was earlier on in the year as Leonardo Mayer defeated Joao Souza 7-6 7-6 5-7 5-7 15-13 in 6 hours 13 minutes where as the longest doubles match in Davis Cup history was when Berdych/Rosol took on Wawrinka/Chiudinelli and won 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-7 24-22 in 7 hours and 1 minute!
