Andy Murray defeats Nick Kyrgios in four sets!

Andy Murray has secured his place in the second round of the US Open after a 7-5 6-3 4-6 6-1 victory against Nick Kyrgios setting up a round two meeting with Adrian Mannarino where the two players met earlier this year at Indian Wells with Murray winning 6-3 6-3.

The match against Kyrgios got off to a good start and did have a couple of drama’s along the way during the fourth game of the match Kyrgios won a point on his serve but was forced to replay it by the umpire due to people walking about finding their seat and the Australian was then broken by Murray who took a 3-1 lead however he did break back not long after being Murray broke to take the set 7-5.

Murray stayed in control to take the second set 6-3 however there was a slight scare in the third set as Kyrgios took the set 6-4 breaking serve whilst having a 5-4 lead but Murray dominated the fourth set to seal the match under the lights in New York.
