After winning her first match since returning from injury on Wednesday, to follow up with another win so early after her comeback would always be tough but Laura can take a lot of positives from this week in Granby.
Yesterday Laura lost 2-6 6-4 2-6 to Ellie Halbauer from the USA. Laura did play well in the match. She had to fight hard in the second set at 5-4 she did face break point but held to take the set 6-4 but Ellie had too much for her in the third set.
Losing in the singles was tough but what I thought showed great character is a couple of hours later Laura returned to the court with Erin Routliffe from Canada to play a very long doubles match which they won from a set down winning 4-6 7-6(3) 10-5 against the fourth seeds Julia Glushko and Olivia Rogowska.
Laura will be in action later today as well as her and Erin face their biggest challenge yet in the doubles draw against the second seeds Amandine Hesse from France and Great Britain’s Naomi Broady who is also in action in the singles today against Great Britain’s Johanna Konta!
