Laura Robson wins her first match since returning from injury!

Last night at an ITF event in Granby, Canada former British number one Laura Robson won her first match since returning from injury last month with it being her first win since December 2013!

Laura’s first match after injury was in a qualifying match against Daria Gavrilova the top seed in Eastbourne. Laura lost the match 6-0 6-1 and since then has improved. She was unlucky in her first round match at Wimbledon against Evgeniya Rodina ranked 101 in the world at the time and lost a close match 6-4 6-4.

Laura’s win yesterday was against the second seed Naomi Osaka who is 17 years old. Laura took the first set on a tie-breaker 7-5 and then lost the second set by the same score line before going on to win the decider 6-3.

It’s great to see Laura back on the tennis court and winning! She has continued to improve with every match she has played!

Laura is back on the court later today this time against 18 year old Ellie Halbauer and will also be in action later on in the doubles as well.
