Grigor Dimitrov splits with coach!

Last night Grigor Dimitrov made the announcement on his Twitter page that he and his coach Roger Rasheed have split after a couple of years together. I’ve been saying for a while I don’t think Dimitrov’s game has improved and his weapon the one handed backhand has become a weakness. Here’s a piece I wrote below:

Has Grigor Dimitrov Improved Since Last Year?

Since making the semi-finals of Wimbledon last year Dimitrov hasn’t really improved and at 24 years old he is no longer a rising star and should be a consistent figure in the final stages of tournaments. Since making the semi-finals of Wimbledon last year Dimitrov has a win/loss record of 36/21 which isn’t very good with his record this year being 21/13.

Despite the poor from, I am surprised he has split from his coach. Dimitrov doesn’t have many points to defend over the next four months so it will be interesting to see how he gets on and who his new coach will be…
