Wimbledon 2015 – Women’s draw opens up after defeats for Halep and Kvitova

Early exits for Angelique Kerber, Sabine Lisicki, Simona Halep, Ekaterina Makarova and Petra Kvitova has really opened up the bottom half of the women’s draw going into the second week with so many opportunities for all 8 eight players to go far at Wimbledon.

One of Caroline Wozniacki, Garbine Muguruza, Timea Bacsinszky and Monica Niculescu will advance to the semi-finals as well as one of Madison Keys, Agnieszka Radwanska, Jelena Jankovic and qualifier Olga Govortsova.

Jankovic, Wozniacki and Radwanska have always been the nearly people, they have been there or there about and this is a real opportunity to get to the semi-final and potentially the final for them. Radwanska is the only one who has been to the final so know what it takes so could she be walking away with the title?

Could it be one of the rising stars? Madison Keys and Garbine Muguruza have a good chance of reaching the final. Both players have been in good form at Wimbledon despite their warm-up tournaments not going to plan with early exits. Both have shown their best tennis and good character and composure to get to this stage and I wouldn’t rule out further progress at SW19.

Another possibility is an outsider. Timea Bacsinszky, Monica Niculescu and Olga Govortsova have done so well to get to the fourth round of Wimbledon and one of Monica or Timea will definitely progress to the quarter finals which would be great for them! I think the achievements of Olga to come through qualifying and get to the fourth round is exceptional especially at a major where the matches come thick and fast.

Who out of these will advance to the semi-finals and potentially the final?
