Just as Andy Murray won the Queen’s Club title the news broke that Laura Robson will receive a wildcard into Wimbledon this year as she continues her comeback after 17 months out.
Laura returned to tennis at the weekend but lost in the first round of qualifying to the top seed Daria Gavrilova 6-0 6-1. After Wimbledon Laura is set to go to the USA where she will play some hard court tournaments.
Laura joins a list of Naomi Broady, Johanna Konta, Anett Kontaveit and Jelena Ostapenko as wildcards for the draw at Wimbledon. However the other three wildcards available for the main draw will not be used and will go straight to the next direct acceptance.
