Kyle Edmund withdraws from Queens, Thanasi Kokkinakis receives wildcard

After his epic win against Stephane Robert from France at Roland Garros in the main draw Kyle had to sadly withdraw from the tournament before his second round match with Nick Kyrgios due to an abdominal injury. Sadly the injury hasn’t gone away for Kyle who recieved a wildcard for Queens Club next week however he has withdrawn from the tournament due to this injury. Hopefully Kyle will be back for Wimbledon at the end of the month.

With Kyle withdrawing his wildcard has been given to rising Australian star Thanasi Kokkinakis who is enjoying a fantastic break through year on the ATP tour with some magnificent victories against some good players including Ernests Gulbis at the Australian Open and also came from two sets down to beat Lukas Rosol in a Davis Cup match. Kokkinakis came up against Djokovic at Roland Garros and performed very well against the world number one losing 6-4 6-4 6-4. Kokkinakis is definitely one to watch out for on the tour and could be one to watch at Queens club.
