In his previous meetings with David Ferrer Andy Murray had never beaten the Spaniard on clay however that changed today in Paris. Murray got off to a good start in the first set breaking however the Brit was broken back immediately but did break the Spaniard again who did return the favour later on. The first set was decided by the tie-breaker which Murray took full control of taking a 6-1 lead and going on to win the set a couple of points later.
The second set was even better for Murray as he enforced in authority on the match winning the second set 6-2 however in the third it was a bit more difficult despite having a lead and saving a game at 0-40 the Brit saw a match point on the Ferrer serve which was saved and Murray was broken in the next game with Ferrer taking the third set 7-5.
The fourth set was simply stunning from Andy Murray who quickly raced to a 5-0 lead and produced some sensational passing winners to secure the lead and won the match 7-6 6-2 5-7 6-1 and will face Novak Djokovic on Friday afternoon for a place in the final.
