It’s been a busy couple of days for Katie Swan however the Brit is through to the third round of the girls singles at Roland Garros after another victory in just under 100 minutes today against Katherine Sebov from Canada.
In her match yesterday against Michaela Gordon from the USA Katie did find herself in a spot of bother at 1-5 down in the deciding set however she found a way back into the match to win the final set 8-6 completing a great comeback. Today’s match was a little bit more straight forward for Katie with only a worry early on in the first set being a break down with Sebov 4-3 up and serving for 5-3 but Katie broke back for 4-4 before going on to win the set 7-5 as she did the second set 7-5 as well.
2015 has been a very good year for Katie reaching the final of the girls Australian Open and winning her first ITF Futures title in Egypt. For a place in the quarter finals Katie will have to play against Jil Teichmann from Switzerland who recorded a very good win today against Emmanuelle Girard the 9th seed from France winning the match 6-1 6-2.
